PDF files 
As you browse this XavierHawks.com web site, you'll notice that some documents have been created in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format -- often simply called, "PDF files." To view these documents, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed on your computer. If you do NOT have it, you can easily download it, free of charge, from the Adobe web site. They offer it free to anyone, because people like us pay big bucks for their program to "create" files using Adobe... which we use because it's so easy for you to then read and/or print the file.
Portable Document Format is based on the PostScript page-description language. Unlike Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), PDF preserves the look of the printed publication so that when you download a PDF file from this site, you'll be able to view the document in its original format, with its original graphics and color.
Most World Wide Web browsers allow users to integrate
Adobe Acrobat as an external viewer, or "helper application."
This enables the user to view PDF documents without first saving them and
then running the Adobe Acrobat Reader. You may print Adobe items directly
from your browser by simply using the "Print" icon after the PDF file
opens. If you wish to save the document to your computer,
use
the "Save" icon once the PDF file opens; you can then open the document in Acrobat
Reader...
anytime... from your computer -- and it's easy to read and/or print the file.
You may also easily share any PDF document via e-mail, using the
"Email" icon available once the PDF file opens. Other features
or options may also be available. Some of the PDF documents created for
use on this site will need a password to “change” the original file or
design / layout… as the files have been created to be viewed, or, to be
printed and then used “as-is.”
