Xavier players continue the tradition of remembering the late Bradley Williams when taking the game field for home football games, as each XHS player touches the memorial rock near the player entrance to Rocky Bleier Field on the Knights of Columbus Sports Complex behind Xavier.

He collapsed during football practice at Xavier on Sept. 28, 2005 and passed away that evening at the hospital.  Brad’s death was not associated with any direct, traumatic football contact, but, was an unfortunate coincidence that happened during practice.  He had a congenital heart problem... unrelated to any football injury or not due to his involvement in sports.

He was the son of Joel & Deanna Williams of Greenville.  Brad also played baseball at XHS.
